Located adjacent to The Beverly Hilton on the corner of Wilshire and Santa Monica Boulevards in Beverly Hills, the 12-story, 170-room luxury hotel will be the brand’s first new build on the West Coast and will join the legendary Waldorf Astoria portfolio of 24 hotels and resorts.
The Waldorf Astoria hotel in Beverly Hills will be developed in partnership between a private investor group led by Alagem Capital Group and clients of Guggenheim Partners.
“The arrival of our Waldorf Astoria brand to Beverly Hills is one of the most highly anticipated developments in our portfolio,” said John T.A. Vanderslice, global head, Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, Hilton Worldwide.
“Beverly Hills is synonymous with luxury. This Waldorf Astoria hotel will be impeccably designed to provide unforgettable experiences reflective of its iconic location.”
The nine-acre property will be transformed into a one-of-a-kind hospitality destination with lushly landscaped grounds and gardens, comprised of the new Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills, The Beverly Hilton and Waldorf Astoria Residences in the future. The property is owned by Alagem Capital Group and clients of Guggenheim Partners.
“This is an important next chapter in the history of this already famous property. Now with Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills, it will once again set a standard for others to follow,” said Beny Alagem, chairman, Alagem Capital Group.
“Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills will be one of the most luxurious urban hotels in the country. From the world-class design to the exclusive services, every detail is designed to create an unprecedented hospitality experience that doesn’t exist today.”
The hotel will feature a triple-height lobby with a contemporary Art Deco design, the signature Waldorf Astoria clock, hand-painted murals of California landscapes and custom chandeliers. Each of the 170 guestrooms will feature unrivaled views and floor-to-ceiling windows that open onto oversized private balconies, comfortably furnished and landscaped to create a Beverly Hills Lanai that brings the outdoors inside.
On the third level, spacious Villa Suites will open onto manicured private garden terraces. The rooftop pool deck will be the largest rooftop destination of its kind in Beverly Hills and will include landscaping, VIP cabanas, lounge areas and a swimming pool specifically for hotel guests.
The hotel will also bring exclusive services to Los Angeles from inspirational cuisine with an award-winning chef that will be proprietary to Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills to select retailers such as Graff Diamonds, and a world-class 5,000 square-foot Waldorf Astoria Spa with recognized management and products.
The hotel will also house approximately 6,300 square feet of indoor meeting and special events space, state-of-the-art technology offerings and a ground-level outdoor dining terrace and flexible open-air space to take advantage of Southern California’s highly desirable year-round climate.
Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills will blend legendary Hollywood glamour with the effortless luxury of the local lifestyle. Pierre-Yves Rochon Inc. (PYR) of Paris and Chicago has been hired to bring their internationally recognized luxury hospitality environments to California for the first time in over a decade. PYR is known for the interior designs of some of the most renowned luxury hotels in world.
PYR’s signature style is in every detail of the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills’ guest experience. Richly upholstered furniture, custom Strass crystal chandeliers, lacquered sycamore millwork, Lalique installations as well as a significant curated art program throughout hotel, represent the apex of master craftsmanship and luxury that is paramount to the Waldorf Astoria brand.
To create a cohesive architectural design inside and out, Gensler and PYR, joined by their parent company Perkins+Will, co-designed the exterior of Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills. Gensler, a leading global design firm with extensive experience in luxury hotels and world-class design is responsible for award-winning projects in distinguished cities like Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, New York and Shanghai.
Curving white stone and intricate ornamentation signify the hotel’s clean, contemporary design which draws its inspiration from the rich history of California’s Streamlined Moderne style. The Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills’ design with its elegant lines, smooth stone surfaces, polished metals and sleek glass will be a unique compliment and iconic addition to The Beverly Hilton’s mid-century architecture.
From arrival to departure, guests will not only be embraced by the hotel’s inspirational environments, but also welcomed by “True Waldorf Service.” A service initiative that assigns a personal concierge, Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills’ Personal Concierges will ensure that each guest receives anticipatory and personalized service before, during and after their stay.
Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills will participate in Hilton HHonors®, the only guest rewards program that allows members to earn Points & Miles® for the same stay and redeem points for free nights with No Blackout Dates at more than 4,000 hotels worldwide.
