Pink Ribbon House Proceeds To Generate $50,000 For Deanna Favre Hope Foundation

By Pardhasaradhi Gonuguntla

Two Wisconsin-based entrepreneurs, Jay Blossom, Broker/Owner/Founder of Properties of Door County in Sister Bay and Tim Halbrook, owner of Halbrook Builders in Green Bay, have teamed up to design, build and sell a luxury bayside home and then, upon sale of the home – aptly named the Pink Ribbon House – donate $50,000 to the Deanna Favre Hope Foundation.

Jay Blossom, creator of the Pink Ribbon House phenomenon, talked about why he felt the need to give so generously to this particular organization.

“I have always admired the Favres for their generosity to the communities near and dear to them in both Wisconsin and Mississippi,” said Blossom. “In addition, my mother grew up a close friend of Susan Kohmen. I know that my gift to organizations designed to help women afflicted with breast cancer would make her very proud.”

The Deanna Favre Hope Foundation, located in Hattiesburg, Mississippi is headed by Deanna, wife of former Green Bay Packer quarterback, Brett Favre. Deanna founded the organization after her own courageous battle with breast cancer. Today, the mission of the Deanna Favre HOPE Foundation is to provide assistance to women who are underserved or underinsured in their battle against breast cancer.

The $50,000 gift will come from the eventual sale of the Pink Ribbon House located in Sister Bay – a community situated in Door County, Wisconsin, a popular tourism destination and vacation home locale for Midwestern families. No expense has been spared in this luxury home, which features quality craftsmanship throughout.

“We’ve paid special attention to the details in this home,” said Halbrook who is overseeing the construction of the Pink Ribbon House. “High end products such as cherry wood floors throughout and a good dose of copper on the exterior coupled with the highest level of fit and finish make this home really something special.”

Blossom, who is handling the sale of the home through his real estate company, Properties of Door County, assures that this home is only the beginning.

“Depending on the interest and success of this home sale, I believe this particular project is only the first in a series of homes that we will build, enabling us to give back to those organizations – like the Deanna Favre Hope Foundation – that do so much for those who need it most.”
