The Hotel Cipriani in Venice, a historical palace offering magnificent views across the lagoon to San Marco Square, recently completed the renovation of 11 rooms in the San Marco wing and the addition of the chic poolside Bar Gabbiano. Offering views of the hotel’s Antique Gardens, the new rooms offer more space and showcase traditional Venetian décor. New in 2009, Hotel Cipriani’s make-up artists will unveil their secrets during complimentary Make-up Classes held at the Casanova Wellness Centre, located in the private gardens of the hotel. The artists will teach techniques for daytime to enhance natural beauty as well as providing tips for a more sophisticated look for evening. Tasting sessions of local wines are also organized at the hotel free of charge: glasses of Merlot, Cabernet and Chardonnay will be served at the famous Fortuny Bar, under the expert supervision of Sommelier Marianna Cappotto.
The glamorous Hotel Splendido & Splendido Mare in Portofino, on the Northwest coast of Italy, invites guests to sample authentic dishes from the Ligurian tradition through its Pizza & Focaccia Cooking Classes. The hotel is also now offering guided tours around the historic center of Genoa with its tiny medieval streets, elegant palaces, the Sea Museum and the original Jeans Museum, as denim was invented in Genoa.
Italy’s majestic Villa San Michele soars on the gentle hills of Fiesole, overlooking the city of Florence. This 15th century monastery, embellished with antique frescoes, is renowned worldwide for its refined cuisine and exclusive Villa San Michele School of Cookery, lead by Executive Chef Attilio di Fabrizio. With the help of the hotel’s complimentaryPersonal Trainer, guests can enjoy the exquisite Italian cuisine without worrying about their waistline. The Villa’s personal trainer is available for consultation each morning for two hours free of charge.
The Hotel Caruso, located at the peak of Ravello on the picturesque Amalfi Coast, enchants its guests with luscious green gardens, flowered terraces and its breathtaking infinity pool, offering unrivaled views of the Divine Coast. Hotel guests can enjoy a mini-cruise aboard the Caruso’s Ercole, a wooden coastal craft at the disposal of guests every day on a regular basis. They will cruise along the blue sea and discover the coast of Amalfi, Positano and the most magical, hidden grottoes, as well as the only fiord in the Mediterranean.
