Neiman Marcus CEO Tansky Honored in Italy

By Pardhasaradhi Gonuguntla

Florence, Italy — With the organization of Stefano Ricci founder Stefano Ricci and an introduction speech by Salvatore Ferragamo matriarch Wanda Ferragamo, Neiman Marcus CEO Burt Tansky was presented the keys to the city by the Mayor of Florence, Leonardo Domenici during a ceremony here today.

Tansky, a former CEO of Saks, was honored for his promotion of Italian fashion, with Mayor Domenici saying the Neiman Marcus CEO has “always been a protagonist for Italy, Tuscany and Florence.”

Mrs. Ferragamo recalled a trip to the U.S. aboard the Queen Elizabeth to receive an award from Neiman Marcus and a train ride from New York to Dallas. She described her company’s longtime relationship with Neiman Marcus as a “friendship.”

Meanwhile, Mayor Domenici thanks Stefano Ricci for coordinating the event, and Mr. Tansky credited Italian designers for helping create the products that have created the success for Neiman Marcus.
