MONTE CARLO — Hôtel de Paris here will be the site of a “must-see” tribute to Russia that marks the end of the New Year festivities with a Grand Gala Friday January 8. The exceptional event will entail music, caviar and vodka, according to a press release received by Elite Traveler.
“To prolong the magic, the Hôtel de Paris is hosting a lavish Gala. The Salle Empire at the Hôtel de Paris will witness the rebirth of Russian splendour of yesteryear. In addition to Russian-style fine wining and dining, the guests will be treated to a concert featuring works by several composers from the second half of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century, including Rimski-Korsakov, Tchaikovsky and Prokofiev,” according to the hotel.
The mutual passion between Russia and Monte-Carlo is linked to the very history of Monte-Carlo SBM’s resort. During the Belle Époque, members of the Russian aristocracy were particularly fond of Monaco and worshipped the gaming tables at the Casino. Whilst Princes and Grand Dukes hosted amazing parties, Diaghilev was leading the Ballets Russes to the height of their fame. Since then, Monte-Carlo SBM has perpetuated these celebrations and confirmed its bond with Russia by organising many highly-important events such as the Kirov Ballet’s visit to Monaco in 2004.
To make the most of Grand Gala, Monte-Carlo SBM is proposing a dream sojourn in the enchanting and lavish Hôtel de Paris from 8 to 10 January. A different way to start a new year, experiencing excellence at its best and a friendly welcome in the most prestigious of Monaco’s hotels.
Gala: Starting at 20:00. Black tie.
