Hôtel Le Bristol Unveils New Wing

By Pardhasaradhi Gonuguntla

On September 15, the legendary Hôtel Le Bristol in Paris unveiled a new seven-story wing featuring 26 luxurious rooms and a new restaurant from three-star Michelin Chef Eric Frechon, called “114 Faubourg”. Situated adjacent to the current structure, Le Bristol’s new wing expands onto the Avenue Matignon and the Rue du Faubourg Saint- Honoré, bolstering its visibility and presence in the area. The wing’s freestone façade maintains the “Haussmanienne” architectural style of the original structure, which dates back to the beginning of the 1900s.

In honor of the wing’s debut, the hotel is offering Celebrate Le Bristol’s Extension Package which includes one night’s accommodation in a superior room, lunch or dinner for two at the “114 Faubourg” restaurant and a bottle of premium champagne in the guest’s room upon arrival. The package begins at € 800 per night (approximately US $1,100) for a superior room, inclusive of tax and service charges, exclusive of daily city tax. Lunch or dinner for two does not include beverages. Room upgrades may be requested pending availability. Offer is valid through April 30, 2010.
The property’s 26 lavish rooms, five of which are suites, are modeled in the same timeless fashion as the accommodations featured in the original structure. Rooms are adorned with delicate fabrics, vintage furnishings and mirrors and paintings emulating the works of the old masters. Bathrooms are finished in precious pink marble imported from Portugal. The décor, hand selected by Maja Oetker, whose family owns the hotel, adheres to the French luxury classicism of Louis XV and Louis XVI. Madam Oetker collaborated with celebrated craftsmen, antique dealers and fashion designers such as Manuel Canovas, Pierre Frey and Nobilis, in order to create a quintessential replication of this bygone era. The rooms also boast contemporary colors, affording a twist of modernity throughout.

The penthouse suites, located in the two upper stories of the new wing not only provide space and comfort, but also exhilarating views of Paris and the famed EiffelTower. In the decadent, sixth floor suite, a dining room and private kitchen are available, creating the ambience of a Parisian “pied-à-terre,” and offering the service of a Parisian palace. The property’s seventh and final floor feature a unique and charming penthouse suite with panoramic vistas of the city, including a spectacular view of the Avenue Matignon and the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré from the living room.

Chef Frechon’s restaurant, “114 Faubourg,” brings a new casual dining experience to Le Bristol, offering a cuisine made with the best quality products and dishes that blend French classicism with world flavors. Conceived with the help of Italian designer, Guendalina Litta Modignani, the restaurant’s atmosphere immerses guests in a universe of ethereal warmth and color. Modignani, renowned for producing glamorous weddings and events, worked with Madam Oetker to create the décor for the restaurant.

The wing’s opening writes a new page in Le Bristol’s history, which began in 1925 with founder Hippolyte Jammet. For additional information, please call +33 (0)1 53 43 43 42 or visit www.lebristolparis.com.
