Earlier this year GR8 announced the launch of a new partnership with the accomplished chef Massimo Bottura. Now the experience agency has revealed the latest development in this collaboration; on December 1st and 2nd, 2017, GR8 will hold an exclusive dining experience on New York’s Ellis Island with food created by chef Bottura himself.
Marking the one year anniversary of his musical A Bronx Tale being on Broadway, the dinner will be hosted by legendary actor and screenwriter Chazz Palminteri, right by the Statue of Liberty. Here, the three Michelin star Italian chef will present a one-off culinary experience with dishes that fuse tradition with contemporary cooking techniques. Staying in line with GR8’s aim to echo the environment each dining concept takes place in, the menu will take inspiration from the ‘City of Dreams’ New York.
While looking out over the New York skyline, guests will dine on psychedelic spin-painted veal and fresh whimsical tarts, each of which will be paired with wine from the internationally revered winemaker Roberto Cipresso.
During the event a live auction will take place, from which all proceeds will go to the event’s charity partner, God’s Love We Deliver. Founded in 1985, this charity is now the leading provider of nutritious and personalized meals to individuals who are unable to shop and cook for themselves.
Co-founder and CEO of GR8, Barnabas Carrega, says: “We have designed and executed some of the world’s most exquisite events from closing down the Sistine Chapel, organizing a private tennis clinic with top tennis star, Novak Djokovic, to granting access to some of the world’s top private wineries. To partner with a world renowned chef and visionary like Massimo allows us to further enrich our clients’ lives with the unexpected. Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty are quintessential New York and is the perfect setting for Massimo to take inspiration from to create an incomparable dining experience.”
“I am honored to be part of this exciting project,” says Chef Massimo Bottura, “To conceptualize a menu based on such an inspiring location as New York was a unique experience. The inimitable energy and cultural diversity makes it the perfect landscape to celebrate the very best of Italian cuisine, but within the dynamic and creative landscape of this city.”
Karen Pearl, the president and CEO of God’s Love We Deliver then adds: “God’s Love We Deliver is so thrilled to have this important partnership with GR8 and Massimo Bottura. This special event is not only one of gastronomic delight and intrigue, but it introduces God’s Love to new friends and brings awareness to our organization and mission.”
