Four Seasons Hotel Milan Spa Infuses Modern Treatments with a Historical Setting

By Pardhasaradhi Gonuguntla

Milan, Italy – Reported by Elite Traveler, the private jet lifestyle magazine

Amongst brick walls and 200-year-old vaulted ceilings in a 15th century former convent, renowned Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola has created a relaxing and luxurious atmosphere removed from the hustle and bustle of the world’s fashion capital. The new Four Seasons Hotel Milan Spa, which recently opened its doors in mid-July, is a serene retreat housing seven treatment rooms, a lap pool under an original brick ceiling, an authentic Turkish bath, sauna, Scottish shower, fitness studio and signature hair spa.

Under Urquiola’s direction, the interior design incorporates materials native to Italy that showcase some of the region’s classic design motifs, from warming stones to wooden walls etched with beautiful silkscreen patterns. Through a combination of warm colors and design techniques like serigraphy, the exceptional arrangement ensures a de-stressing atmosphere.

Four Seasons Hotel Milan Spa invites its guests to experience luxury product houses La Prairie and Sodashi. La Prairie combines the science and innovation of the modern century with the time-honoured art of cosmetics and thermal spa experience to develop offers that extend beyond temporary or surfaced rejuvenation practices and instead, impress long-lasting effects on the vitality of skin make-up. Such treatments include the very exclusive caviar firming treatment, which uses caviar pearls to firm the skin and make it soft and silky. La Prairie products will also be used in a range of massage and relaxation techniques.

Sodashi is the ideal choice for those seeking a holistic and organic approach to beauty, as these products offer a combination of natural elements, plant extracts and essential oils that tender a healthy and motivating effect on the skin. One of such treatments available is Samadara, an anti-age ritual that takes advantage of the Ayurvedica philosophy, which stresses balance of three elemental humours, to reactivate the vital energy of the skin and uses Sodashi products to hydrate, regenerate and nurture. In effect, the elasticity and consistency of the skin improves, diminishing the signs of age.

In addition to these products, the spa features a contemporary hair spa by the renowned Rossano Feretti, creator of the innovative “Methodo” cut. The fitness area, which offers a personal trainer and yoga lessons, is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment from Technogym’s Excite line, a dedicated stretching area with stretching machines, circuit training from Arkè, a weight lifting area and a Kinesis Personal Heritage system with an accompanying video for self-instruction.
