Four Seasons Breathes New Life into Baltimore

By Pardhasaradhi Gonuguntla

Baltimore, Maryland – Reported by Elite Traveler, the private jet lifestyle magazine

Baltimore gets a makeover this fall with the brand new Four Seasons Hotel Baltimore opening its doors this month. The hotel will boost the city’s accommodation, dining and leisure offerings, and booking inquiries are already being made about its immaculate event spaces.

Located in Harbor East, the 18-story hotel is surrounded by a walkable community of shops, cafés and theaters. Its 256 rooms include 45 suites, outfitted in a chic, contemporary American style by design experts BraytonHughes. Whether you’re in town for business, a weekend getaway or a longer stay, you’ll find just the right configuration for your needs, along with sumptuous beds and the very best of in-room amenities. Almost all of the accommodations showcase stunning harbor views through floor-to-ceiling windows, and many feature private terraces as well.

General Manager Julien Carralero says, “This is Baltimore’s moment. Regular business travelers and city residents already know what a great place it is to live, work and play, and now people from the region and even the rest of the world are taking notice. We’re already booking social and corporate events for this year and next, and locals have anxiously awaited the day we open up the reservations books for our restaurants and spa. International inquiries are also coming in, particularly those with business in the city or plans to visit Johns Hopkins.”

The property’s highly anticipated dining options include Wit & Wisdom, Baltimore’s first Michael Mina outpost. The restaurant, serving up a modern American tavern menu of comfort food classics with Eastern seaboard influences, will wow with grilled entrees served in cast iron skillets and meats and seafood cooked by rotisserie, wood fired grill, slow braised or baked in sea salt, complemented by appetizers to share, seasonal sides and regional breakfast specialties. In 2012, a hip izakaya-style Japanese pub, Pabu, will tempt foodies with delectable small plates, sushi and perfectly conceived entrees.

The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Baltimore raises the bar in pampering with a 10,000-square-foot space dedicated to relaxation, rejuvenation and wellness the ESPA way. Several of the 11 treatment rooms tout private soaking tubs, and there are also separate men’s and women’s relaxation areas, sauna and steam and a state-of-the-art fitness center. Enjoy two swimming pools, one of which is heated year-round and seems to literally spill into the harbor.
