As part of the illustrious celebrations to mark its 50th anniversary, Corinthia Hotels hosted a lavish musical evening featuring world-renowned opera singer Joseph Calleja. The evening took the form of an intimate recital for 130 guests at the group’s flagship, Corinthia Hotel London.

What began as a small family-style restaurant in Malta in 1962 has become nine prestigious luxury properties across Europe and North Africa, each of which has been praised for its distinctive style, craftsmanship and outstanding guest service. Corinthia Hotel London, which opened in April 2011, is the latest addition to the group and has become widely recognized as the jewel in the crown. The meticulously restored Victorian building has become a new landmark hotel in London, with its ideal location overlooking the River Thames, moments away from Trafalgar Square and the Royal Festival Hall. Its seven penthouse suites have received critical acclaim for their extravagant and innovative designs and spectacular views across the city.

The evening’s musical celebration serves as an expression of thanks towards all who have been part of the Corinthia journey. Select guests from the diplomatic, business and art worlds were invited for their friendship and longstanding association with Corinthia Hotels. Convening in the hotel’s magnificently restored Victorian ballroom, guests enjoyed the exclusive recital by the highly acclaimed singer just days before he appears as concert headliner for the Last Night of the Proms at the Royal Albert Hall. The outstanding operatic display included sensational performances of Paolo Tosti’s Ideale, La fleur Que Tu M’avai Jetée from Carmen by Bizet and E Lucevan le Stelle from Puccini’s Tosca, providing a fitting way for friends of Corinthia to celebrate the luxury hotel group’s prestigious milestone.
