AA And BA Open First Joint Admirals Club

By Pardhasaradhi Gonuguntla

Fort Worth, Texas – Reported by Elite Traveler, the Private Jet Lifestyle Magazine

American Airlines (AA) and British Airways (BA) recently announced the opening of the joint Admirals Club lounge at Denver International Airport. This new club is the airlines’ first joint lounge since entering into a joint business agreement to share revenue, coordinate networks and schedules and cooperate commercially on routes between North America and Europe.

“The joint lounge in Denver is another way AA and BA are providing more seamless customer service as part of the airlines’ transatlantic joint business,” said Nancy Knipp, American’s President – Admirals Club. “In addition to featuring a wide array of state-of-the-art amenities in an enhanced lounge setting, we’ve simplified the connection process for travelers by relocating the Denver Admirals Club from Terminal C to Terminal A – the terminal from which both AA and BA operate.”

In celebration of the new Denver lounge, American is offering a $75 discount on new Admirals Club memberships when purchased at the Denver Admirals Club between now and Jan. 31. Individual Admirals Club memberships for new members range from $350 to $500 annually. AAdvantage miles can also be used to purchase Admirals Club memberships. One Day Passes are available for $50 and may be purchased online, at self-service check-in machines, or any Admirals Club location.

“The joint business permits AA and BA to improve our customers’ travel experience by offering more access to better fares, coordinated schedules on joint routes and more flight choices,” said Steve Clark, British Airways Senior Vice President Customer Service – Americas. “The new joint lounge provides another customer touchpoint where our representatives can offer seamless, premium service to all AA and BA customers alike.”

Conveniently located at the north end of Terminal A, the Denver club is easily accessible via the Jeppesen pedestrian bridge or the Denver International Airport train. Both AA and BA operate from Terminal A, which simplifies the connection process for travelers.

The newly opened 5,115 square foot space incorporates rustic and organic elements that reflect the unique characteristics of Colorado. Upon entering the club, customers are greeted in a reception area composed of chiseled stone walls, curved glass panels and back-lit resin panels. The facility offers seating for 124 guests and includes a cell-phone-free quiet zone featuring comfortable chairs with ottomans. Visitors to the club also can enjoy the walk-up Cyber Café with HP TouchSmart PCs, new flat-panel TVs, a conference room and a children’s area featuring a flat-panel TV and HP PC, both with age-appropriate programming.

In addition, the lounge offers an expanded multi-functional Business Center including work stations with new HP Compaq dc7900 PCs as well as fax service, copier and global printing solution powered by PrinterOn. Guests can submit print jobs via e-mail or webpage uploads from any location and retrieve them in the lounge.

or BA

Visitors to the Admirals Club lounge can also take advantage of complimentary alcoholic beverages, including house wines, beer and well liquors, in addition to complimentary coffee, tea, soft drinks and juices. Premium liquors, wine and beer are available for purchase. A selection of AmoraTM fresh food items, including fresh salads, sandwiches, hot entrees and small bites are available to enjoy in the club or for carry-out.

The renovated and jointly-operated Denver club will employ both AA and BA premium service representatives to better serve customer needs. The Denver Admirals Club lounge is open daily from 5:15 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

American, a founding member of the global oneworld® Alliance, operates more than 40 Admirals Club locations and four Flagship Lounge locations in airports throughout the world.
