Suite style: The Eloise Suite, designed by celebrated fashion designer Betsey Johnson, is resplendently rendered in an Eloiseapproved palette of pink and black.

Key selling points: Channeling the ebullient spirit of The Plaza’s most famous “resident,” Eloise, the irreverent and irrepressible fictional heroine of Kay Thompson’s classic book who made her way into the hearts of generations of readers, this namesake suite will delight erstwhile young Eloises, while an adjoining bedroom can also be rented for their parents. Whimsically designed, the suite features wall panels candy striped with pink and white and outlined with gold leaf molding providing a striking contrast to the black and white carpet. The king-size bed is made up with custom-designed bedding sprigged with scenes drawn by “Eloise” illustrator, Hilary Knight. The padded pink headboard sparkles (as does a matching nearby ottoman), and is surmounted by the crowning touch: Eloise’s name scrawled in neon lights and affixed to the wall above. Two comfy chairs make the perfect perch for bedtime storytelling and original Hilary Knight prints adorn the walls.

The 23-foot exposed brick cathedral ceiling exemplifies medieval architecture, giving the bedroom the authentic feeling of spending the night in a real life siege tower. The living room features The Plaza’s very
own coat of arms, as well as medieval art that bring the time period to life.

Key selling points: The Plaza henceforth bequeaths thine noblest sons and daughters “Knights of The Plaza.” Young children who have demonstrated bravery and prowess on the battlefield are invited to be among the few to spend the night in the oneof- a-kind Tower Suite and are treated to a closet full of knight dress-up outfits and toys, a picnic lunch to take to Belvedere Castle in Central Park, and a welcome gift bag that includes a Knights at The Plaza pin, $100 Gift Card to FAO Schwarz, a medieval themed DVD, and The Plaza Boutique ‘Prince’ or ‘Princess’ robe.
