SPONSORED: The inimitable Balearic hotspot, Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay returns on July 10.
By Elite Traveler | June 10 2020
This July, Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay will reopen for a season unlike any other. Experience the ultimate luxury escape and a quieter island experience more akin to ‘the old Ibiza’ that was only known by a limited, bohemian few. Effortlessly combining laid-back luxury, authentic Ibizan flair, and peace and solitude with unparalleled service, Ibiza Bay is perfectly situated for guests looking to escape the crowds and experience a more intimate holiday. Ideally positioned on the secluded, sandy shores of Talamanca Bay the hotel benefits from a wealth of extensive outdoor space: All dining venues, a new workout rooftop, and two seafront pools – one for adults and the other for families – creating the perfect opportunity to soak up island life.
Commenting on the opening, “We have adjusted our protocols and procedures through our Safe With Us program, which demonstrates our commitment to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety, ensuring the traveler is protected from the time of arrival, to check-out,” said Álvaro Gutierrez, the General Manager. “Thanks to this digital health platform, which is comprised of a telemedicine solution, clients of the hotel will have continuous access to a doctor’s consultation during their visit. Without having to compromise a guest’s visit, the reimagined experience remains true to our service, style, and ultimately, feels authentic and enjoyable.”
– Size: 3,100 sq ft
– Nightly rate from $5,000
The Royal Suite perfectly embodies the Ibiza Bay experience with a blend of a relaxed, chic, understated quality and complete indulgence. On the hotel’s top floor, the Royal Suite boasts stunning views of Talamanca Bay and Ibiza Town. With a grand entrance, living room, dining area, kitchen, king-size master suite and guest room, the Royal Suite feels like your own private seafront villa. Floor-to-ceiling windows line the walls that look out to the Mediterranean. The extraordinarily lavish bathroom is crafted of Persian marble, with a deep soaking tub, rain shower and mother-of-pearl inlay. Indulge in a siesta or private sunbathing on your expansive lower terrace. Verdant gardens and stunning relaxation areas on the upper terrace provide plenty of space to enjoy the company of loved ones. Royal Suite guests also enjoy complimentary Bali Bed access at the main swimming pool.
The 2020 season will see the launch of a new luxurious three-bedroom suite – the Nobu Penthouse. Offering unparalleled privacy and seclusion – it’s the perfect haven for a family or small group. Penthouse guests benefit from a dedicated ‘Ambassador’, who will assist them in everything from organizing reservations for exclusive island excursions to arranging an in-room private dining experience. Penthouse residents will also receive complimentary access to a personal trainer or yoga & meditation teacher, as well as a Nobu chef on speed dial, and much more.
The hotel will open this season with a refurbished Ibiza Bay Spa by Six Senses, which this year is welcoming an exciting series of visiting Ibizan wellness practitioners to bring more of island life direct to guests, including bespoke holistic, healing therapies, Pilates for rejuvenating movement, and yoga to encourage creative and energetic bodies. Sessions will be available one-to-one while group classes and talks will be offered complimentary to ensure all travelers have the opportunity to engage the mind, body, and spirit. Al-fresco beachside cabana treatments will also be available.
Also new for 2020 is a refurbed high-tech gym open 24/7 for guests as well as functional outdoor training facilities and a rooftop space for mindful yoga and meditation sessions whilst taking in panoramic island views. For fitness enthusiasts looking to have a dedicated space without any other hotel residents in sight, the rooftop can be rented for private workouts.
Ibiza Bay will continue to be an al-fresco culinary destination with the resort’s varied all-day and night gourmet offerings. The vibrant culinary offering continues at Chambao restaurant, ideal for long lunches and early dinners as guests can dine on the private beach with their toes in the sand, just steps from the sea. Under the sun or stars on the airy terrace, Nobu Restaurant will continue to delight palates with its globally renowned fusion flavors, including bento boxes colorful plates of sushi and sashimi. Unique dishes inspired by Ibiza and new for this season include; scallop zamburinia, black cod pilpil, gambas al ajillo, lamb rosemary miso, gratinated oyster with ajo blanco.
Ibiza is a magnet for celebrities, hippies and boozy backpackers, who all descend on this Balearic Island off the eastern coast of Spain. It’s a hedonist’s dream, with nonstop party action and the finest DJs in the world descending on the island throughout the summer months. But away from the dance floor, this volcanic island is home to ancient towns, fantastic beaches and excellent restaurants. Ibiza is a beautiful island with lots of things to do, such as spending the day at a beach club, renting a boat to visit Formentera, exploring the island, strolling around Dalt Vila, experiencing the sunset in lovely locations like Es Vedrà or visiting the hippie markets around the island — there’s always something new to do.
