While there’s no such thing as a bad room here, the Mayia Suite certainly shines brightly. Guests of this one-bedroom suite have perfect sea views over the Aegean and a private, heated infinity pool just steps off the terrace. The entire suite is awash in beige, white and pale blue that perfectly complement the resort’s natural surroundings. The suite has a separate bedroom and sitting area, two bathrooms and two smart TVs. The room, terrace and pool have complete privacy, with walls on either side to shield your space from other guests. There is also an expansive lawn in front of the pool should you want to partake in fun lawn games, or even morning yoga, with your friends or family.
At Mayia, the spa is all about your personal wellness and relaxation journey. The brand-new spa has stunning marble floors and walls, boasting an elegant, luxurious and, most of all, tranquil, atmosphere. Inside, there’s a heated swimming pool, whirlpool, Turkish bath, steam room, sauna and private treatment rooms (including one dedicated to couples), plus a salon and fitness studio. The menu includes traditional spa and beauty treatments, all using local, natural ingredients, but it’s the holistic therapies that keep guests coming back again and again. The Ultimate Journey is an incredible anti-stress face-and-body experience using aromatherapy through various oils, such as pomegranate oil. First you will receive a body polish from head to toe, then a nurturing massage and, finally, an eye-and-lip treatment. While here, be sure to take advantage of the spa’s globally inspired rituals, such as reflexology, Cretan massage and Thai massage.
Inspired by the herb thyme, Thymari focuses on delicious Greek cuisine — often prepared tableside! Upon entering, you’ll find the restaurant is filled with wonderful aromas of all the herbs and spices used in Greek food — and when you sit down for your meal, it gets even better. Enjoy the à la carte offerings, most which are prepared and plated directly in front of you. You can expect only the freshest seafood delicacies and seasonal, locally grown produce. This outdoor restaurant has exquisite views over the beach and is very popular for unforgettable dinners where you will enjoy the unique ambiance, natural beauty and delectable dishes.
While Greece has so much to explore, Mayia offers plenty to do on property too. Choose from a variety of group fitness classes such as Zumba, yoga and water aerobics, either outside or in the gym. Or, walk along the expansive property, which has unique design details at every turn. Once you’ve gotten the lay of the land, the resort also offers mixology classes and cooking lessons, plus a Greek culture program, international dance groups and folklore dance shows. There’s an open-air amphitheater to enjoy these cultural displays in traditional Grecian style.
