Jeweler Chopard has announced its sponsorship of the Film Society of Lincoln Center’s 46th Annual New York Film Festival (NYFF). Chopard has partnered with the prestigious Cannes Film Festival for the past twelve years (and creates the beautiful Palme d’Or trophy which is the festival’s highest honor).
The NYFF is a seventeen day long festival showcasing the best in global cinema. The festival begins on September 26th with the screening of French director Laurent Cantet’s The Class, which won the Palme d’Or in Cannes earlier this year, immediately followed by the opening night gala at Tavern on the Green. Clint Eastwood’s highly anticipated film Changeling, starring Angelina Jolie and John Malkovich, will screen as the festival centerpiece on October 4th and Darren Aronofsky’s new film, The Wrestler, starring Mickey Rourke, Marisa Tomei and Evan Rachel Wood will close the festival on the night of the 12th.
Other films being screened include Wong Kar-Wai’s Ashes of Time Redux, Steven Soderbergh’s Che, and Steve McQueen’s Hunger.
