One of the more recent developments arising from Riviera Nayarit’s positioning as a luxury and nature destination has been its growing attraction for celebrities from the entertainment, music and sports industries.
2014 raised the bar for 2015 thanks to the approximately 40 famous names that made their way to the Riviera Nayarit this year.
Most notable regarding the visits of these stars both from Mexico and abroad is their postings on their personal social media pages to their thousands of followers, not to mention the amount of coverage they generated on conventional media with all its implicit publicity for the destination.
Also considerable are the possibilities that their followers who both admire and wish to emulate them might visit the destination. Plus, a celebrity has high purchasing power, so the economic benefit to the region is substantial.
This year the area witnessed weddings, honeymoons and romantic getaways by famous couples such as Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson, Roberto Martínez and Sara Jean Underwood, Christina Aguilera and Matthew Rutler, Leighton Meester and Adam Brody, Alexa Vega and Carlos Peña, Peter Facinelli and Jaimie Alexander, Teresa Palmer and Mark Webber and UFC Champion T.J. Dillashaw “The Viper” and his girlfriend, to mention just a few.
There’s also speculation that the pending weddings of Eva Longoria and Kourtney Kardashian with their respective partners will take place in the Riviera Nayarit. The Kardashian sisters have been a constant on the scene in the region, staying at their friend Joe Francis’ house.
The idyllic scenery of the Riviera Nayarit has served as a background for models as well, whether posing for the camera or vacationing, as was the case with Alessandra Ambrosio, Samantha Hoopes and, most recently, Bethany Noel Mota.
Both ingénues and established stars have visited the region, including Zosia Mamet, Angelique Cabral, Krysten Ritter, Joe Jonas, Bella Thorne, Vanessa Minnillo, Nick Lachey, Vanessa Jonhston, Etty Lau Farrell and Kat Graham.
And last but not least, Mexico’s Pacific Treasure also welcomed personalities such as María Conchita Alonso, Yordi Rosado, Vicente Matías Vuoso and Gerardo Méndez.
