Indulge yourself and watch the Monaco Grand Prix (May 24-27, 2012) from one of the yachts below
These four days in May are undoubtedly the most famous in the Principality’s whole calendar.
Europe’s most exciting race is fought on the winding streets of Monte Carlo while VIP spectators and celebrities jostle for viewing space. This event is almost tailor made for Elite Travelers.
What could be more elite than viewing the race from your own boat in the harbor? Privacy and exclusivity are guaranteed. The views of the race are unparalleled and then, when dusk falls, your yacht becomes the main attraction and the envy of everyone else in town. At Elite Traveler we have handpicked the finest yachts from the best charter companies to help you prepare early.
Charter companies are invaluable during this high profile event, they are able to arrange everything from the private jet to Nice, helicopter to Monaco, and access to what the Monaco Grand Prix is so famous for, the after parties. The Amber Lounge is the favorite with the drivers and other destinations include Royale, Billionaire and Sea Lounge, the place to be on the Sunday when the last race finishes. Many of the most ostentatious parties take place onboard the yachts; this is where your crew can assist in creating an event to remember. After the race why not continue your holiday with a luxury cruise along the French Riviera?
At 228 feet (70 meters) Sherakhan is one of the largest yachts available to charter during the Grand Prix, ideal as having the largest yacht also means having the highest and largest sundecks from which to view the race.
It also means more space for your guests: Sherakhan can sleep 26 guests in 13 cabins. She has a beautiful classic hull, yet the interior is modern and impressive, particularly the master stateroom that boasts a private terrace and lounge/study area. CLOUD 9 Demand for Cloud 9 since its launch little over a year ago has only increased. Its cool modern interior and shaded aft deck make it the suave option for the Grand Prix. All 196 feet (60 meters) of her is sure to impress and with seven cabins, including the generous master cabin with its own observation lounge, you are able to comfortably accommodate 12 guests. Don’t fear missing out on the gourmet food of dry land as chef Markus Gary is fully able to cater for even the most critical connoisseur.
At 219 feet (67 meters) Apoise is large enough to accommodate all the modern luxuries that you will need during the Grand Prix.
Twelve guests are comfortably accommodated in six cabins, all en-suite, and are able to enjoy the deck Jacuzzi, sports bar, theater and gym. The master cabin is ideal for seclusion; at an impressive 1,399 square feet it spans the full beam of Apoise’s hull. The sun deck, an important feature at the Grand Prix, soars over most others and boasts a 360 degree view ensuring you miss none of the action.
The 206 foot (63 meter) Polar Star is fitted to impress having just undergone an extensive refit: twelve guests can be accommodated in six staterooms located on the main deck. The owner’s stateroom features his and her bathrooms and panoramic views through huge windows. A spa pool on the aft deck with room for 10 is the ultimate indulgence during the hot afternoons of the Grand Prix and there is ample deck space for lounging and alfresco dining.

The recently refitted 196-foot (59 meter) Oasis is a masterpiece of design and its generous sun deck with Jacuzzi and retractable cinema screen is a lavish spot from which to see the race unfold.
The crew of up to 15 ensures every whim of up to 12 guests is attended to. A masseuse and gym allows you to keep in shape while the world class chef and onboard disco mean you will host some unforgettable parties.
The slightly smaller option is no less decadent. A cinema screen unfolds in-front of the Jacuzzi on the sundeck, perfect for watching the race in detail and style. At 145 foot (44 meters) the yacht can comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests. Jems recently won a Superyacht Design Award for her extensive sundeck, a perfect design and ideal for entertaining.
The famous Grand Prix after party is styled as “The Ultimate VIP Nightlife Experience” and with F1 drivers, royalty, film stars, musicians and models in attendance there is certainly truth in its claim.
If you want to mingle with the said crowd while enjoying champagne all night, an Individual Pass is the choice for you. However, if you want the celebrities to mingle around you then reserve one of the Jeroboam Tables, perfectly located around the dance floor and served endless bottles of Cristal, Krug or Dom Perignon by a dedicated hostess. Sunday night is the big one, when celebrities and members of the Monaco Royal Family come together to help the race champions celebrate their victory to the sounds of legendary DJs and bands. “Amber Lounge is the best party to be at during the Grand Prix weekend! It’s the one everybody most looks forward to because they know it’s going to be a blast”. LEWIS HAMILTON
