Like all truly special city hotels, Rocco Forte’s Villa Kennedy does not really feel like it is in a city at all.
Situated in extensive gardens just off the south bank of the River Main, the hundred-year-old Villa Speyer has been adapted perfectly into a luxury hotel. The neo-gothic façade of Villa Kennedy, dating back to 1904, is a landmark of the area having previously attracted Liza Minnelli, Bruce Willis and Robbie Williams. At its center is a beautiful courtyard with mature trees, a delightful spot for alfresco dining. In fact, the hotel’s Gusto restaurant is a revered establishment in its own right. Villa Kennedy’s spa, also making use of the vast space available, includes a private garden in addition to a 50-foot pool, gym, saunas, steam baths and eight treatment rooms.
TOP SUITE PRESIDENTIAL SUITE
Why we love it: Spread over the entire top floor of Villa Kennedy, this suite occupies a staggering 3,500 square foot of the hotel. Fitted for comfort and entertaining, the suite includes a turret dining room, a grand sitting room and a vast bedroom, which has a marble and mosaic en-suite bathroom with a luxurious rainforest shower. Interconnecting rooms can be utilized to turn the one-bedroom suite into a three-bedroom suite. The service is equally decadent: a butler and limousine are on call both day and night.
