WHEN BEST TO GO
Situated in the beautiful Rhine valley, Basel boasts the highest average temperatures in Switzerland.
This year-round destination is at its best during spring and summer, when warm weather and long evenings are the perfect accompaniment to enjoy all that Basel has to offer. Alternatively, the city’s renowned Christmas markets and wonderful seasonal decorations make it an ideal festive retreat.
Basel residents are justifiably proud of their city, which is clean, safe and relaxed. Baslers demand that tourists are equally as respectful of their city in return. Smoking is banned in all public places.
