The Mehmet Ali Aga Mansion – an intimate Mediterranean retreat (where relaxed elegance engages the cosmopolitan traveller) Located near the ancient city of Knidos on Turkey’s rugged Datça Peninsula and just a short hop from the Greek island of Symi, the Mansion is nestled in the midst of pine-covered hills in the village of Reşadiye.
The guests are as eclectic and iconoclastic as the Mansion itself, many of them arriving by unconventional means – seaplanes, yachts, sailboats and even bicycles. Stepping through the front gate into the opulent garden, guests are taken to an era of legendary Ottoman hospitality, where personal service, attention to detail and extraordinary cuisine are elevated to an art form. Elaki Restaurant has a loyal following among foodies yachting in the region, as well as international visitors who hop over from the Greek islands especially. A recurring Fodor’s Choice hotel and recommended in Condé Nast Traveller’s 20 Top Trips for 2009, the Mansion has been lauded for its pervasive charm by travel writers globally. Welcoming guests seeking privacy, relaxed elegance and pampering, the Mansion continues to charm the globe’s most discerning travellers.

The Casa Dell’Arte Residence was established in 2007 by the Büyükkuşoğlu family who owns an extensive art collection.
There are original sculptures and paintings at every turn, from the lobby to the gardens and even beside the swimming pool – ask the concierge for a private guided tour of the collection. Dine on the veranda of the Mutfak Restaurant surrounded by masterpieces and outstanding ocean views. The restaurant serves traditional Turkish and international cuisine and there is live jazz and easy listening music every night. The hotel’s spa includes a steam room and sauna and the massage room has video art projections and soothing music to promote relaxation. To arrange spa treatments contact Yücel Şenol on the number above or email email@example.com.
Why we love it: Casa Dell’Arte is located in the captivating fishing village of Torba, four miles north of Bodrum. The Seaview Suite offers stunning panoramic views of the bay and contains carefully selected original artworks from the owner’s collection. The bathroom has two vanities and a large bathtub.

Ada Hotel’s unique architecture is evocative of a medieval castle and was built from carved stones using traditional artisanal methods.
Well-appointed antique carpets, 18th century icons and Ottoman antiques make Ada welcoming and homely. Two à la carte restaurants, the Terrace and the Mahzen serve Mediterranean cuisine created from the finest local ingredients. Curl up in front of the Cafe Bar’s carved stone fireplace with a book from the hotel’s library and a liqueur from the bar’s impressive drinks menu – in summer the doors of the bar open out onto the hotel’s swimming pool.
Why we love it: The Presidential Suite’s balcony and terrace look out over Türkbükü Bay and the 150-year-old hotel gardens filled with olive trees and blossoming bougainvillea. The suite has two generously sized bedrooms – the master bedroom has a Jacuzzi, bath and fireplace, a separate living room and shares a swimming pool with the penthouse suite.

This $1.5 billion hotel achieves both opulence and style and it features an impressive 900-seat amphitheater with 300 VIP seats, several bars and ten restaurants – plus a wine cellar containing 8,500 bottles where private tastings are held by invitation.
The Aquamarine restaurant is situated in the middle of a five-acre man-made swimming lagoon and is surrounded by four aquariums with 3,000 varieties of fish. The VIP contact for Aquamarine is Umit Erdogan, who is contactable on the number above or at firstname.lastname@example.org. During the day, snorkel in the lagoon and look for eagle and brown rays or take a ride on the Sultan’s Golden Horn Gondola, which traverses the surrounding water street. Once you’ve found the Executive VIP Spa entrance, which is hidden behind a waterfall, you can relax in the steam and sauna rooms and then cool off in the paradise cave filled with fluffy snow. For more information about the spa contact Fatos Dulger by telephone (extension 4218) or at email@example.com.
Why we love it: The two ensuite bedrooms each have their own dressing rooms and one of the terraces offers startling views of the Taurus Mountains while the other, which is furnished with a Jacuzzi and sundeck, offers a stunning view of the sparkling Mediterranean. The suite also has a private sauna and steam room, a private office and dining space for twelve, along with a piano and personal butler.
