Whether you require a luxurious bed, a magnificent view, or extravagant service – choose from our spectacular selection
Raffles is, without doubt, Singapore’s most famous and best-loved hotel and was declared a National Monument in 1987.
After its multi-million dollar restoration and reopening in 1991, the hotel is now the jewel in the crown of the city’s hospitality industry, renowned for its service as much as its facilities. Founded by four enterprising Armenian brothers, the hotel opened in 1887 as the Beach House and was later re-named in honor of Sir Stamford Raffles, the founder of modern Singapore. Over the years the hotel has evolved into one of the world’s most acclaimed grand hotels and welcomed countless celebrities, including Michael Jackson, Elizabeth Taylor and Charlie Chaplin.
Why we love it: Elite Traveler loves this hotel because it has continuously upgraded itself but still managed to do so without losing its charm, and the same can be said about its top suite. The two-bedroom Sarkies Suite offers a generously sized living area, private dining room, and charming veranda. It has been named after the family name of the first owners of the hotel. Oriental carpets complement exquisite teak flooring, while art enthusiasts can enjoy the wonderful collection of original 19th- and 20th-century prints, drawings and photographs that have been installed throughout. Special amenities include RafflesAmrita Spa products, a Bose stereo and Tiffany silver flatware.

Why we love it: Showcasing a contemporary design with an understanding of the luxury traveler’s needs, the Presidential Suite offers fabulous comfort. Accommodation includes two beautifully styled bedrooms with a walk-in wardrobe, lavish bathrooms filled with beauty products and an oversized bathtub. The living and dining rooms are particularly spacious at this hotel, and amplified further by the private balcony. A library and working area is provided for guests, which coupled with the advanced technological features of the room, creates a virtual office. Further facilities include a private kitchen and guest powder room. We recommend staying here if the services of a private butler are at the top of your list.

The Hotel at Marina Bay Sands is perfectly suited to those longing for a Las Vegas inspired setting.
Opening in 2010, it was billed as the most expensive Casino resort ever built to date. It has been positioned beautifully to overlook the buzzing city center of Singapore; Marina Bay Sands features a casino and infinity rooftop pool, as well as an Art- Science Museum. No matter which of the 18 different room types you choose, you will be treated to unforgettable views of the glittering city skyline or the endless serene sea in a hotel that truly believes excess is success.
Why we love it: This truly is the height of luxury living. As befits the finest accommodation in the hotel, the Presidential Suite includes two king-size bed designer bedrooms, both with balconies; an exercise room, living, dining and study rooms, as well as commanding, unobstructed views over the city. The Scarlet provides a completely different five-star experience as it is Singapore’s first luxury boutique hotel.
After a $35 million acquisition and refurbishment, the interiors of this 80-room venue emphasize an eclectic feel, offering all who enter an adventure of the senses. Inside, a variety of textures and colors are strikingly juxtaposed to provide a mood, which is bold, dramatic and daring. Ambient lighting evokes a sensual mood with plenty of intimate areas. An ideal choice for extrovert clientele who want to be at the center of the city’s nightlife and after-dark attractions.
Why we love it: ‘Alternative’ is the mot du jour at The Scarlet Hotel illustrated by the seductive mix of burgundy, fuchsia, and silver throughout the suite. The low ceiling and canopied four-poster bed create an intimate atmosphere, while the outdoor Jacuzzi overlooking the city affords a tantalizing, relaxing setting in which to indulge. Other features we like include the personal bar, broadband internet access and extensive library for guests.

As you approach the private driveway to this most exclusive Singapore hotel, you’ll soon realize you are tasting the new standard in luxury for hotels in the city.
Its location, just off the mainland on Sentosa Island, provides guests with a haven of exclusivity and relaxation away from the buzzing financial district. Modern design is carefully juxtaposed against the colonial buildings, set against a lush, verdant rainforest. Architects Foster + Partners have blended the best of old and new into a design masterpiece. Originally built in the 1880s, these British colonial buildings have been perfectly restored, complementing the hotel’s new extension and villas. One of the very few hotels in the world to have the South China Sea as its playground.
Why we love it: The Colonial Manors offers luxury accommodation with three bedrooms, and a private pool in a beautifully restored building. Guests staying in this colonial gem will find it provides all the necessities a modern traveler requires. Spacious and thoughtfully designed, the doublestory manor is the ultimate exclusive experience at Capella Singapore.
