Banyan Tree Spa Opens in Singapore

By webadmin |  August 19 2011

Singapore City, Singapore – Reported by Elite Traveler, the private jet lifestyle magazine

Marina Bay Sands launched Singapore’s first Banyan Tree Spa this summer, marking the hotel brand’s debut on its home turf after achieving global success. Offering an Asian-inspired experience infusing wellness, glamour and modern design, the spa promises to attract both local urbanites and jetsetters passing through town.

The Banyan Tree Spa is located on the 55th floor of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel, giving this sky-high retreat’s 15 treatment rooms spectacular panoramic views. Just over 13,000 square feet in size, the spa is themed on a Tree of Life design, evoking vitality and wisdom. Decked in earth tones with black accents, the spa uses a clever combination of textured materials to create the sensation of nature and a mystical rainforest.

Banyan Tree Spa is celebrated for its tropical garden spa concept and time-honored Asian therapies with a holistic focus on spiritual, mental and physical harmony. Emphasizing a non-clinical “high-touch, low-tech” approach, the spa highlights the healing powers of the human touch. Guests will reawaken their senses by the intuitive touch of the therapists along with the use of natural ingredients such as herbs, spices and aromatic oils.

The spa’s signature treatments are exclusive to Singapore and include the Harmony Banyan, an indulgent 180-minute massage session performed by two therapists and the Royal Banyan, specially developed to relieve the stresses of city living.

Guests of the spa have a choice of 35 luxurious treatments and services. Favorites include a comprehensive menu of 90- or 120-minute session massages, body scrubs, facials and beauty treatments. Massages feature traditional Thai, Swedish, Balinese and Hawaiian Lomi Lomi techniques to specialist sports and back massages, while beauty therapies feature hand, foot and hair treatments.

In addition to the 15 treatment rooms, of which two are Royal Double Spa Suites offering the legendary Tropical Rainmist treatment, the spa features a beauty salon, tea lounge for post-treatment relaxation and the Banyan Tree Gallery, allowing guests to recreate the unique Banyan Tree experience at home. In-room massages are also available for guests staying in the 24 luxurious hotel spa suites at Marina Bay Sands.
