A chocolate lover is always searching for ways to satisfy a never-ending sweet tooth. Fortunately, the JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong can help, as the luxury resort is welcoming the city’s best known pastry chef, Thomas Lui, and his delectable creations from September 6-12, 2012. The famed pastry chef will showcase a selection of dessert masterpieces exclusively at the hotel’s Dolce 88 and The Lounge’s afternoon tea buffet.
Thomas is known for his one-of-a-kind desserts, receiving rave reviews and international awards for his artistic cakes, pastry creations and chocolate art pieces. He was previously the Executive Pastry Chef at JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong when it first opened in 1989 and has maintained his passion for the field. Guests will enjoy watching Thomas’ vision and creativity come to life in his edible works of art, presenting some of his latest creations from his new coffee table book, La Patisserie Artistique, at the showcase. Dessert lovers are sure to be fans of Thomas’ signature Savina cake, which consists of a shortcrust base layered with spice ganache, chocolate sponge and chili chocolate mousse topped with his caramelized mille feuilles. The Santini is also guaranteed to be another favorite, consisting of a lemon shortcrust base layered with lime sponge cake, red fruit compote and ginger lime cream topped with chocolate garnish.
In addition to enjoying Thomas’ pastry creations, JW Marriott guests will also enjoy a sneak preview and 20% discount on Thomas’ new pastry coffee table book, which features an impressive collection of recipes. The book will be available for sale at Dolce 88.
