Piaget Altiplano Ultimate Concept

This watch is the final iteration of what began a couple of years ago as a concept watch.

By Roberta Naas |  October 21 2020

True watch lovers may say they’ve seen this watch before. To a degree, that is correct. The Piaget Altiplano Ultimate Concept watch is the final iteration of what began a couple of years ago as a concept watch — now in limited serial production. In fact, that is what makes this watch so special. Often, concept watches do not go into production. But Piaget persevered. The exceptional ultra-thin 41mm watch is the world’s thinnest mechanical hand-wound timepiece, measuring just 2mm in thickness (about the thickness of two stacked empty letter envelopes). To achieve this, the Piaget 900P-UC caliber — which was six years in the making and has five patents pending — is merged with the watch.

Price: $389,000 in cobalt-based high-tech alloy
