One of the most famed saltwater fly-fishing destinations in the Indian Ocean, the Alphonse Group gives you the chance to perfect your fishing technique in idyllic, peaceful surroundings. It’s also one of the most prolific bonefish fisheries in the world and offers rare and thrilling experiences for fishermen.
The uninhabited St François Atoll is approximately 7 miles long and 4 miles wide, consisting of firm, white-sand bottoms and interlaced with channels and cuts. What makes St François a truly unique destination is that fishermen can wade through more than 10,000 acres of hard, white-sand flats in search of the various species – a typical day of fly-fishing involves wading away from the skiff for a few hours. A limit of 12 anglers a day ensures exclusivity. Hunting for giant trevally is one of the most exhilarating forms of fly-fishing, considering this formidable fish can weigh in excess of 150lb.
