Cartier, the international jeweler and watchmaker, has opened a new watch espace in Weston Jewelers in Weston, Florida.

Weston Jewelers, the premiere jeweler in South Florida, has been an authorized Cartier watch dealer since 2006.

The new custom-designed corner which is referred to as an espace has a luxurious and modern feel.  The environment features oak paneling in a warm and muted palette, accented with signature red oak lacquer.  The 135 square foot space also includes a video screen used to highlight Cartier’s Collections, innovations and craftsmanship. Weston Jewelers, located in the Weston Town Center, will continue to showcase celebrated Cartier watches, including Ballon Bleu, Calibre de Cartier and the Tank & Santos Collections.  Ed Dikes, owner and CEO of Weston Jewelers, stated: “We are so excited to have a full Cartier watch boutique.  It’s a true testament to our partnership and the commitment of our two luxury brands.”

Founded in 1847, the House of Cartier has long been identified with quality, prestige and history, and has served as crown jeweler to 19 royal houses. According to history, the first timepieces were created circa 1853; however, it was in 1888 that Louis Cartier, manager of the House, made watch making a distinct part of the world of Cartier. In 1904, Cartier gifted a square wristwatch to his friend and famous Brazilian aviator, Albert Santos-Dumont. This was the first modern wristwatch and it was at this time that Cartier established itself as one of the influential watchmakers in the world. The heritage of Louis Cartier endures through many of the watch collections. In 1906, Louis Cartier introduced the Touneau watch, convincing the world of watch making that timepieces belonged on the wrist and not in a pocket. In 1910, the first wristwatch with the deployant buckle was introduced; offering an easier and more luxurious way to fasten a wristwatch. The movements, made by Cartier’s master craftsmen, often have highly complex mechanisms, and all are ultimately masterpieces of technique. Roman numerals, blue steel hands, sapphire-studded winding crown and the adjustable deployant buckle are all unique characteristics of a Cartier timepiece.  All Cartier watches are housed in the famous red box.

As a family owned business, Weston Jewelers takes pride in providing their customers with the quality, selection and service they deserve. Whether you are a collector of rare gems, a watch aficionado, have a passion for fine or custom jewelry or are looking for a special gift, Weston Jewelers provides premier service and offers collections from the world’s most distinguished brands including Cartier.  The store’s sales specialists can assist clients in English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Chinese, Italian and French and it is not uncommon for them to accommodate clients with personal delivery of fine timepieces or exceptional jewelry at hotels, airports, home or wherever it is convenient for them. It’s no wonder Harpers Bazaar named them one of the “Best Jewelry and Watch Retailers in America.”  Weston Jewelers is located at 1728 Main Street in Weston, Florida.
