Five years have passed since in 2010, the year of Zegna’s centenary, two long established family companies, Ermenegildo Zegna and Girard Perregaux, embarked on a journey to make the most elegant timepieces by combining the meticulous manufacturing prowess of a name hallowed in horological history with the unique savoir fair of Zegna, a name steeped in a century of Italian style.
To mark this important anniversary the leading worldwide luxury menswear company is proud to present the Ermenegildo Zegna Monterubello Power Reserve, a fitting celebration of half a decade in the watch business. An exclusive new limited-edition timepiece, it is destined for discerning gentlemen as just 50 will be made.
This special watch is the distillation of the refinement that connoisseurs have come to expect from watches bearing the Monterubello name. The most arresting feature of the Ermenegildo Zegna Monterubello Power Reserve is the striking cocoa bean colored dial that is accented by the use of pink gold for the case, the applied numerals, and the sword hands that lend a further touch of boldness to the dial.
Such boldness, however, is not achieved at the expense of the essential Monterubello values of balance and harmony. With its slim profile, the discretion of its 38mm case diameter and the elegance of the Breguet numerals, the Monterubello Power Reserve is the quintessence of understated wearability, upholding and enhancing the tradition of elegant watch design.
This limited edition watch is further characterized by the sub seconds dial at 9 o’clock on the dial – harmoniously mirroring the circular date window at three o’clock. This elegant dial configuration creates space for a power reserve function at five o’clock.
The sense of care and quality in the design is to be appreciated well beyond the elegant face that this watch presents its wearer. The crystal case back allows the owner to appreciate the exquisitely finished Girard Perregaux movement. The strap, cut from the finest Mississippi, dyed to a shade to match to the dial and with cocoa bean colored thread, is even backed in alligator.
As a firm that is now over a century old Ermenegildo Zegna understands the values that withstand the erosive power of the passage of time; those minutes that trickle by almost unnoticed until they become hours, days, weeks, months, years and generations.
