It is always nice to allow a little versatility in life, especially when on vacation. That’s why certain top watch brands have created easy, tool-free, interchangeable band systems. During the day, don a colorful strap that easily switches to a bracelet at night, or a rubber option when poolside.
These Hublot Big Bang One Click watches (pictured above), named for the interchangeable system that simply clicks a new strap into place, boast embroidered leather straps made at the Bischoff workshops in St Gallen, Switzerland, using a tradition that dates back to the Middle Ages. Each strap is designed according to a complex pattern; then, a technical designer determines how to program the embroidery machine. Additional straps can be purchased separately for $685 each. The steel and diamond Big Bang One Click retails for $14,600, and the King Gold with pavé diamonds on bezel, case and lugs retails for $32,500.
The Bulgari Twist Your Time concept offers an exciting way to change the look of the classic yet contemporary Serpenti watch, with a case shaped in the likeness of the snake. This seductive watch dresses down by day with a two-loop strap and can be dressed up at night with a four-loop strap. Shown here, the watch retails for $8,700, but additional two-loop straps can be purchased for $165, and four-loop straps for $220.
British actress Maisie Williams is also a Pasha de Cartier brand ambassador. Her watch of choice is the 35mm stainless steel Pasha de Cartier with interchangeable steel bracelet and leather straps. The Cartier system allows for easy on/off strap changes, and the array of color choices and finishes of straps lets you go from day to night and even in between. Additional alligator straps (shiny or semi-matte) can be purchased for $305. The watch version worn by Williams, $6,150.
