Washington, DC might be considered a hot destination for many reasons, but beauty doesn’t generally top the list. Mandarin Oriental, Washington DC is out to change that, both for visitors and for discerning locals. As the first US Mandarin Oriental hotel to launch a partnership with cult French skincare line, Biologique Recherche, The Spa is staking its claim as the area’s foremost respite for wellness and skincare.
To launch the partnership, The Spa developed four exclusive treatments created in conjunction with Biologique Recherche, using its technology and, of course, fantastic products. Every treatment starts with a skin analysis using the Skin Instant machine, which provides a personalized regime. Following the analysis, guests choose from four of the facials, including the Biologique Recherche Signature Facial, $275 for 50 minutes, and the Absolute Facial, $475 for 1 hour and 50 minutes. The Absolute Facial uses Biologique Recherche’s Remodeling Face Machine, which is a revolutionary device using bio-electrotherapy combining four types of electric currents to provide better defined facial features and less pronounced wrinkles. Every guest leaves with a suggested customized Biologique Recherche regime. More than one has already left having purchased the entire kit; that’s how quickly these products show results.
For a true Elite Traveler experience, try the Haute Couture Program by Biologique Recherche. Founder Dr. Philippe Allouche will personally analyze your skin, then create custom-blended creams and serums that he develops exclusively for you in his Paris laboratory. Couture skin, indeed.
There are plenty of other reasons to visit the 10,000 sq ft spa, such as its 50-ft indoor lap pool and its Heat and Water Experiences, including vitality pool, dry sauna and amethyst crystal steam rooms. Be sure to leave enough time to fully experience these, and of course to relax in its Zen lounge.
