New York City’s Premiere Holiday Shopping Day Raises Funds for Cancer Center

miracle on madison avenue_The 27th Annual Miracle on Madison Avenue one-day shopping celebration on Saturday, December 7, packed the stores with shoppers and festivities.

The Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) Miracle on Madison Avenue chairmen, Muffie Potter Aston and Courtney Arnot, and          The Society of MSKCC president, Martha Vietor Glass, along with MSKCC hosts, greeted shoppers encouraging them to shop for the ‘miracle’.

Each MSKCC Miracle host personally visited 80 of the world’s most prestigious brands, including Bally, Hublot, Graff Diamonds, Michael Kors, Ippolita, Buccellati, Molton Brown, Emilio Pucci and Tory Burch.

The event was sponsored by Madison Avenue Business Improvement District (BID) and the media partner was Town&Country magazine.

Participating retailers and businesses on Madison Avenue between 57th and 86th Streets donated 20% of the sales that day between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to The Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (with a maximum contribution of $15,000 per retailer).

With a 45% increase in participating stores, is it anticipated that funds raised will exceed last year’s total of $160,000.
