You need to have something very special make the beauty buyers at Barneys New York take notice, but one encounter with artist Phuong Dang and her new perfumes was all it took for them to exclusively snap up the collection. Dang’s take on “liquid emotion” with stunning packaging and, of course, beautiful scents are sure to be a client must-have as well.
Dang, a Vietnam-born artist with a Masters Degree in Fine Arts from Goldsmiths
University of London, wanted to bring her artistic sensibility and her artworks’ ability to share emotions without a word and translate that into fine perfumes. She uses incredibly high concentrations of the rarest, most precious raw materials and through a collaboration with celebrated perfumers Bertrand Duchaufour and Marina Jung Allégret presents an initial collection of 10 fragrances. The collection includes scents like Obscure Oud, a mysterious oud fragrance with top notes of red berry and cardamom, and Liquid Red, a modern rose perfume with top notes of bergamot and champagne, which also happens to be this editor’s current obsession.
Discover the collection online or in person at Barneys New York. Prices from $300 for 50ml.
