Style/Ambiance: Angela Hartnett is near enough a national treasure in the UK.

When she and Gordon Ramsay opened Menu Restaurant at the Connaught Hotel in 2002, she became the first woman to run the kitchen there, and her service to the hospitality industry has since been recognized with an MBE. Hartnett and Ramsay teamed up again to open Murano in 2008, winning a Michelin star five months later. Highlights include Anjou pigeon with date and apple purée, white port jelly and marinated mouli, and monkfish with handpicked crab, avocado, asparagus and bitter orange. For a unique view of the kitchen’s magic, groups of between seven and 12 can enjoy a bespoke menu at the Chef’s Table.
