As the tradition of fine dining has a long history in Switzerland, it comes as no surprise that the festival celebrating its thriving culinary culture needs an extra day this year. From September 14-18, Zurich will hold the third annual Epicure Food Festival, an extended weekend of classes and cuisine hosted by some of the most distinguished chefs in the world.

Headlining the event is Heiko Nieder, Executive Chef fine dining of the five-star Dolder Grand hotel, joined by nine other internationally-renowned, Michelin-starred chefs. At the Epicure, guests can attend an array of master classes ranging from a Cognac Treasures session to a caviar-tasting class. Each day will end with an exclusive eight-course dinner prepared by one of four acclaimed chefs accompanied by Chef Nieder.

This year, the talent cooking alongside him includes Curtis Duffy of Grace in Chicago, Harald Wohlfahrt of the Schwarzwaldstube in Germany, Andreas Caminada of Schauenstein Schloss Restaurant Hotel in Switzerland, and Pascal Barbot of L’Astrance in France. Also among the skilled group are chefs Georgianna Hiliadaki and Nikos Roussos of Funky Gourmet in Greece, a new entry on the Elite Traveler Top 100 Restaurants in the World for 2016. At the conclusion of the festival, the Epicure Final, all nine Michelin-starred chefs will come together to delight guests with a menu of their combined cooking.

Tickets are available for master classes and dinners, starting at about $70 USD. Guests can also book the “Evening Package,” which includes a stay in the hotel, breakfast, late check-out and unlimited access to the Dolder Grand Spa, starting at about $1,975 USD.
