From Tokyo to Hokkaido and Hirosaki to Kyoto, Japan is known best for their cherry blossoms, or the Sakura flower. To see these beautiful blooms in complete luxury, join a traditional Hanami, a celebration where friends, family and co-workers walk around town to see the cherry blossoms in person.

You’d be remiss not to stay at The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto, who can arrange a private guide to take you around the best places to see the cherry blossoms in town.

The Watergate Hotel Cherry Blossom Garden Globe

Washington DC

Celebrate the National Cherry Blossom Festival from March 20 to April 14 – hotels, restaurants, bars and even coffee shops will help you celebrate with special cocktails, spa packages and dinners. We suggest booking a stay at The Watergate Hotel. Don’t forget to check out the hotel’s winter igloos transition to Cherry Blossom Garden Globes.

Book a private globe and enjoy seasonal cocktails. If that’s not enough, partake in cherry blossom chocolate truffle-making classes, enjoy cherry blossom-themed afternoon tea or opt for a private Moët & Chandon tasting in the Rose Suite.

Hidden Garden at Four Seasons Vancouver

Vancouver, British Columbia

From April 4 through 28 marks Vancouver’s cherry blossom festival. Stay at the Four Seasons Hotel and try their Hidden Garden dish at YEW seafood+ bar for the season – it’s an inventive dish featuring cherry wood smoke and edible flowers. While in town, waltz through Queen Elizabeth Park; Stanley Park; and VanDusen Botanical Garden.

Enjoy citywide activities from bike rides to art classes to a haiku competition.
