By Lauren Jade Hill

By Lauren Jade Hill

Whether it’s the Balinese rainforest, glimmering skyscrapers of Shanghai or Rio’s golden coastline that makes your heart beat faster, each of these locations could barely fail to leave a lasting impression. We pick out the best hotel pools around the world, with views that will take your breath away.

Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, France

Having hosting royalty, esteemed writers and Hollywood stars, Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc is one of the French Riviera’s most iconic properties, exuding both luxury and glamour. The grand mansion lies alongside the cliffs of the Riviera, surrounded by lush manicured gardens, with a swimming pool perched on the rocks overlooking the Mediterranean.

Aman Tokyo, Japan

This 30-meter pool sits 33 floors above the streets of Tokyo, with floor-to-ceiling windows commanding spectacular views over the cityscape. The interior is no less impressive with its high ceilings and minimalist basalt stone walls that change their appearance throughout the day as they reflect the light streaming in from outside. All of this combined, makes the pool at Aman Tokyo the showpiece of the hotel.

Singita Grumeti Sasakwa Lodge, Tanzania

Here in the Grumeti Reserves of northern Tanzania, it’s undoubtedly the bountiful wildlife that steals the show. But this safari experience is enhanced by lodges such as Singita Sasakwa where these exceptional surroundings are met with stylish interiors and an infinity pool with uninterrupted views of the wilderness.

Banyan Tree Seychelles, The Seychelles

Situated on the white sand shores of Anse Intendance in the south of Mahe, this Banyan Tree property overlooks the Indian Ocean, and lies amidst the coast’s wild tropical flora. And it’s this sublime setting that defines the breath-taking view from the luxury resort’s infinity pool.

Four Seasons Shanghai Pudong, China

This luxury hotel is situated at the heart of Shanghai’s gleaming Pudong District, rising up to 55 stories among the glittering skyscrapers. Having become known as the Jewel Box, this structure is enough to entice people in, but the view from the infinity-edge pool on floor 41 is even more captivating, as it looks out on the city’s iconic landmarks.

Jade Mountain, St Lucia

Tucked into a lush estate that rises up from the shores of Anse Chastanet on St Lucia’s southwest coast, Jade Mountain Resort has a privileged setting that affords views of both the Piti and Gros Piton Mountains, as well as out across the Caribbean Sea. Each open-fronted suite takes in these views, with an infinity pool at the heart of the resort offering the most picturesque scene.

Hanging Gardens, Bali

Among the numerous awards this luxury resort has garnered, the Hanging Gardens of Bali has won recognition for its remarkably scenic infinity pool, time and time again. With the resort’s secluded location, amidst the lush rainforest and rice terraces to the north of Ubud, the twin-tiered cascading pool looks out over the Balinese jungle.

Hotel Fasano Rio, Brazil

Combining an Ipanema coastal setting with design by Philippe Starke, the Hotel Fasano Rio has attracted the attention of style hunters since it opened 10 years ago. The hotel’s roof terrace overlooks a stretch of golden sand, from where the marble infinity pool looks out along Rio de Janeiro’s sweeping coastline and forested mountains.

Marina Bay Sands, Singapore

One of the most talked-about hotel pools across the globe is the infinity pool at Marina Bay Sands. Located 57 floors up, on the roof-deck of this architecturally impressive hotel, the sun-lounger lined pool offers jaw-dropping views over the Marina Bay and glittering skyline beyond.

The Cambrian Adelboden, Switzerland

This chic design hotel sits within the pristine Swiss Alps, amid mountains that are equally as stunning with the lush green slopes summer brings and snow-blanketed winter. The outdoor hot pool offers a place to unwind year-round, with views of the mountains and valley.
