Spa of the Week: Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas

By Olivia Cuccaro

For many, a day at the spa is a time to disconnect and bring the focus to one’s own personal wellness. While spending a few hours alone at the spa can be a welcome respite from a busy schedule, it’s that same busy schedule that impedes time with our loved ones. At the Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas, seven Spa Suites invite guests to experience treatments together in a luxurious, private setting.

Whether you’re glamming up for a night on the Strip with a friend or pampering during a romantic getaway in the ‘Marriage Capital of the World,’ seven Spa Suites at the Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas ensure you’ll find serenity side-by-side. The Spa comprises three Dragon Suites as well as Bamboo, Chrysanthemum, Orchid and Plum Suites, named after the tiles played in the Chinese puzzle game mahjong. Each Spa Suite includes steam showers, two treatment tables, personal wardrobes and vanity areas, while the Dragon Suites also offer a deep-soaking couples’ hydrotherapy tub. No matter which Spa Suite you reserve, you’ll both relish a private oasis with treatments from the spa’s own expansive list or a special menu of Suite Experiences. Relax with your partner during a foot ritual, body exfoliation, hydrotherapy soak and personalized aromatherapy massage for ‘The Art of Romance’ experience, or rebound from the journey to Las Vegas with a ‘Re-Energizing Jet Lag’ experience including a steam, scrub, bath and choice of aromatherapy treatment or Thai massage.

Spanning two floors, the expansive Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas features 16 Asian-inspired treatment rooms that recall the opulence of 1930s Shanghai. This Eastern influence extends to the Chinese Foot Spa where guests overlook the lights of Las Vegas while receiving treatments dedicated entirely to their feet and lower legs. Unwind in separate men’s and women’s relaxation lounges with views of the Strip, contrasting the bustling streets below with the serene atmosphere of the spa. A focus on heat and water treatments is elevated by the co-ed hammam and Thermal Experience area with personal showers, vitality pools, heated Tepidarium chairs, Laconium room, steam room, sauna and ice fountain.

For your stay, we recommend the one-bedroom Emperor Suite on the 21st floor of the Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas. A chic black-and-white color scheme carries the Asian theme through an open plan kitchen, sitting room, bar, dining room, media room and bathroom with separate bath and walk-in shower. Guests of the suite receive roundtrip airport transportation, pressing service, complimentary buffet in MOzen Bistro and, should you wish to extend the relaxation, complimentary usage of Tian Quan Thermal and Water Experience in the spa.

The Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas is located at 3752 Las Vegas Boulevard South, Las Vegas, NV 89158. For more information, please visit mandarinoriental.com/lasvegas.
