When The Loren opened earlier this year, it caused quite a stir. Not only is it Bermuda’s first new-build property in 45 years, but its modern design feels light years away from many of Bermuda’s more traditional hotels, and it boasts an enviable oceanfront location. While the design is contemporary, The Loren still respects its setting and Bermuda’s unique identity, imbuing the property with a sense of place and offering a modern take on a luxury island oasis. Just off of one of the hotel’s infinity pool overlooking the ocean, this sense of modern calm abounds at The Spa at The Loren.
Offering a calm respite from a day spent zipping around the island on a moped, on the links, or out on the water, The Spa has a surprisingly wide array of treatments. In addition to the expected massages, facials and body treatments, it offers golfer’s massages using deep compression massage, stretches and trigger-point therapies to combat soreness and stiffness; slim and firm body treatments incorporating Yon-Ka techniques; and Indian head massages designed to balance the body’s energy pathways. The signature massage uses warm, hand-carved Himalayan salt stones, which I found to offer a very deep sense of relaxation. If you’re unlucky enough to have a rainy day during your trip, you can while away the time with the five-hour Renew package, which includes the Deep Blue massage, Deep Cleanse facial, lunch and a manicure and pedicure.
For your stay, we recommend one of the seven Villa Residences. The three-bedroom villas span two levels and include chef’s kitchen, living room, private plunge pool, furnished pool deck and grill. The Spa offers massages, facials, body treatments, manicures and pedicures, as well as a full-service hair salon. The Loren is located at 116 South Road in Tuckers Town, Bermuda.
