Discover the vibrant nightlife that Melbourne has to offer. Home to over 1,000 pubs, bars and clubs, there are certainly a verity of things to do from the late evening into the early morning, whilst most are tucked up in bed.

A city that is obsessed with the good life, Melbourne has transformed itself into an entrainment hub over the past two decades. You’ll find an assortment of venues along narrow lanes and broad boulevards.

From fine dining at the top of Australia’s tallest residential building to enjoying cigars on a rooftop terrace, Melbourne is an exciting place that has plenty to offer for night owls.

THE WAITING ROOM, CROWN MELBOURNE

Located within the Crown Towers lobby, The Waiting Room is one of Melbourne’s most prestigious hotel lobby bars.

Its 1940s inspired decor exudes opulence and style, creating the perfect setting to enjoy a classic martini, cocktail or premium champagne.

The bar menu includes dishes such as ham and cheese croquettes, soft shell crab tortilla rolls and confit Tasmanian salmon. For desserts, guests can enjoy hot fudge sundaes, fresh fruit and handmade milk chocolate and espresso truffles.

THE MELBOURNE SUPPER CLUB

Perfect for stand up cocktails, The Melbourne Supper Club is open until 4am on weeknights and 6am on weekends.

The comfortable hideaway spot is perfect to see you into the early hours of the morning. Should you be lucky enough to be seated at the street end of the bar, you will be able to enjoy views over Parliament House through the picture window.

The leather-bound wine menu boasts a huge variety of spirits, beers and wines.

SIGLO BAR

The Supper Club’s rooftop sister bar, Siglo, is an open-air rooftop terrace, a great space for a drink, cigar, or simply for some fresh air.

Perched over Spring Street, Siglo offers views of Old World Melbourne that are rarely seen.

The helpful staff are always on hand to assist and explain the substantial wine list. Siglor Bar can accommodate up to 70 guests seated or 150 guests standing, and the clusters of wooden benches and humidors create an ambience perfect for entertaining.

THE DUTCHESS

Combining a bar, restaurant and dance party, The Dutchess is a venue with many elements, encouraging visitors to make a night of it at one destination.

Manager Ben Hehir’s recent stints in London and New York at prominent establishments are evident.  Trends from The Big Apple include a quick round of oysters over drinks, while the sleek and stylish ambience of a Manhattan lounge bar and restaurant provide an experience like no other in Melbourne.

The varied wine list even includes beer cocktails, such as the Lager-ita, a beer and a margarita in one glass.

CLUB 23

Nestled in the third floor of Crown Towers, Club 23 is a luxury lounge serving the elite.

The lavish balcony boasts impressive and unique views of the Melbourne vista, while the club itself hosts several private rooms, designated lounge areas and state of the art audio visual facilities.

The vast collection of some of the rarest cognacs and whiskies are an assortment of only the highest calibre, while the cocktail menu rotates seasonally, providing drinks for every palate. Executive Chef Rishi Gadjadhur presents a contemporary menu serving a range of bar nibbles and tapas plates.

EUREKA 89

Dining at Eureka 89 is an experience like no other.

Located at the top of Eureka Tower – Australia’s tallest residential building and the highest public vantage point in the Southern Hemisphere – you are guaranteed to witness exceptional views of Melbourne, particularly the spectacular Melbourne skyline at sunset and at night.

Eureka 89 is available Tuesday through to Saturday from 6pm and features a 5 or 7 course menu, including dishes such as calamari and coral trout.

GIN PALACE

Gin Palace serves a range of martinis and cocktails developed by the bartenders themselves.

The back of the bar is well stocked with a variety of liquor, old and new. However, if a martini is not for you, the reserve wine menu may be more suited to your tastes.

The polite, knowledgeable staff, luxurious location and early morning close make Gin Palace the ideal place to spend the night.

28 SKYBAR & LOUNGE

The five meter floor to ceiling windows showcase the jaw-dropping views of the city skyline at 28 Skybar & Lounge.

Guests can enjoy refreshing beverages from the extensive range of beers, local wines and exclusive cocktails. The decor includes bespoke furniture and artwork, an oversized television and gas fireplace, a marble bar and a heated outdoor terrace.

The dramatic backdrop is further enhanced by bookshelves adorned with blue-spined books.
