Rosewood Announces Hôtel de Crillon Paris

Hôtel de Crillon ParisRosewood Hotels & Resorts has announced that it is to manage the legendary Hôtel de Crillon in Paris.

Rosewood is a leading ultra luxury hotel company whose portfolio includes both contemporary classics and historic properties such as Rosewood London and New York’s The Carlyle.

Hôtel de Crillon is currently closed while it undergoes a complete restoration over the next two years and will reopen in 2015.

Radha Arora, President of Rosewood, said: “Hôtel de Crillon is more than just one of the world’s most majestic hotels. It is a landmark that personifies the poise, elegance and spirit of Paris.”

“We strongly believe that the hotel aligns perfectly with Rosewood’s core ethos of ‘A Sense of Place’ and we look forward to drawing upon our expertise and experience to help write the next chapter in the history of this iconic property.”

Originally built in 1758, Hôtel de Crillon enjoys an unrivaled position overlooking Place de la Concorde, one of the most enviable addresses in Paris. The building has withstood the reign of two French Kings, the French Revolution, the rise and fall of the Napoleonic Empire and the birth of the League of Nations.

The current restoration will “add a contemporary polish to the hotel while remaining respectful of its traditions and faithful to its character,” according to the international company.

This announcement comes shortly after the launch of Rosewood London. Housed in a grand Edwardian Belle Époque building, the hotel opened last October. In 2014, the brand plans to open hotels in Beijing, Riyadh and Baha Mar with further openings announced including Phuket, Bali and Bangkok.
