On Tuesday March 17th, Quintessentially and Gilt Groupe, two pioneers in the world of luxury, will come together to salute the designer Valentino and promote the iconic heritage of haute couture. As co-hosts to New York’s premiere of valentino: the last emperor, both will proudly present the behind-the-scenes documentary with the legendary Valentino Garavani, along with his longtime business partner, Giancarlo Giammetti.
Revolutionary filmmaker Matt Tyrnauer follows Valentino and Giancarlo for the final two years of their careers, showcasing the struggles the two men face as they confront the final frontier of a nearly 50-year career at the top of the world’s most glamorous and competitive game. The struggle of art against commerce is at the core of the film, however, the story proves to be not one about money or expensive clothes, but about love.
Quintessentially and Gilt Groupe will co-host the New York premiere along with a select host committee including Gwyneth Paltrow, Claire Danes, Diane von Furstenberg, Tory Burch, Georgina Chapman, Stephanie Seymour, Carolina Herrera, Natalia Vodianova and Daphne Guinness to name a few. The screening will be held at The Roy and Niuta Titus I Theater at The Museum of Modern Art, followed by a seated “red” dinner at The Oak Room in The Plaza Hotel.
