New Bahamian Mega-Resort Creates Very Own “Island” of Luxury

By Pardhasaradhi Gonuguntla

Nassau, Bahamas—Reported by Elite Traveler, the private jet lifestyle magazine

Baha Mar, one of the most exciting and highly anticipated resort projects in The Bahamas, and the largest in development in the Western Hemisphere, recently announced residences to the international community at the world renowned Harrods department store in Knightsbridge.

Scheduled for opening in late 2014, Baha Mar will boast a total of 2,200 hotel rooms, spread across four major hotel brands including Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, Mondrian, Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, and the new, dazzling centerpiece of Baha Mar, The Baha Mar Casino & Hotel.

Built for work as well as play, the resort’s stunning 96,875-square-foot, Vegas-rivaling casino and 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course are matched only by the resort’s 204,514 square feet of advanced and versatile convention facilities

A total of 307 private freehold residences are available for sale throughout the four unique hotels, offering a lifestyle choice to suit all buyers. Whether buying or simply spending the weekend, however, Baha Mar’s 20 acres of beachfront bliss will envelope guests in the serene Bahamian habitat. Pristine sands and crystal clear waters converge in a set of pools, groves and coves where local wildlife thrives undisturbed while three unique spas—including the most complete spa experience in the Caribbean—dot the coastline.

Prices for the residences at Baha Mar start at $1.5 million, with purchasers having the option to enjoy year-round personal use of their residence or elect to participate in Baha Mar’s Rental Program, allowing for up to 90 days of personal use per year. By entering into the Rental Program, owners can save approximately 25% of the purchase price and enjoy tax-free rental revenue streams due to the tax waivers offered to foreign investors. The rental program also allows owners to convert a portion of personal usage credits for holiday stays at more than 300 luxury resorts around the world. And considering you may never want to leave, all owners are entitled to apply for permanent resident status in The Bahamas.
