Luxury Resort Anantara Brings its Signature Elegant Touch to Abu Dhabi

By Pardhasaradhi Gonuguntla

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – Reported by Elite Traveler, the private jet lifestyle magazine

Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa in Abu Dhabi is Anantara’s newest retreat in the Middle East which blends a convenient urban location with an inspirational waterfront setting.

Carefully designed to protect and enhance the precious natural mangrove setting, a celebration of Arabic architectural heritage is expressed in prestigious archways, mashrabiyas, intricate mosaics, solid timber and trellis work, as well as subtle touches of 18K gold. Elegant grandeur is balanced by the warmth of traditional Arabic culture and Anantara’s renowned Asian hospitality. Rich Emirati influences preside from the moment of arrival, with guests greeted in the lobby by a falconer, an offering of local dates and traditional local coffee, as well as sensual scents wafting from a burning bakhour.

Spread over five levels, 222 spacious guest rooms and suites are triple glazed to ensure a peaceful stay, and are designed to reflect the region’s regal opulence. Most impressively, The Royal Mangroves Residence is one of the largest suites in the UAE. Ideally suited to dignitaries and VIPs, this one-of-a-kind residence boasts up to ten bedrooms, a private 33-foot rooftop pool with a swim-up bar, its own dedicated entrance and access to a limousine service, private chef, butler and a massage and beauty therapist.

Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa capitalizes on its waterfront setting perfectly. Guests can relax by the pool and soak up tranquil mangrove views. The more energetic can take out a kayak and explore the lush mangrove reserve, or walk, jog and cycle along a promenade that borders the waterway all the way to central Abu Dhabi’s renowned Corniche area.

After a day of business deals or city exploration, guests return to enjoy a choice of five restaurants and bars, each offering a distinctive culinary experience. For instance the signature restaurant Pachaylen creates authentic Thai cuisine. Ingredients, the all-day dining venue, serves a delicious international and Middle Eastern menu.

With a focus on indulgent relaxation, Anantara Spa pampers guests with journeys of therapeutic sensuality. Designed with separate lobby entrances for men and women, ten single and double treatment suites are joined by a traditional Turkish hammam with two private scrub rooms, three Vichy shower rooms, an LPG room for lipomassage and endermologie, as well as a hair and beauty salon. Choose from an extensive treatment menu which incorporates indigenous wellness wisdom, Asia’s timeless traditions and innovative contemporary techniques.

A stay at the hotel’s Royal Mangroves Residence runs from approximately $12,000. For more information contact easternmangroves@anantara.com or visit www.abu-dhabi.anantara.com
