Foodie Fancy: Beverly Hills’ Avalon Hotel Introduces $500 Truffle Burger

By Pardhasaradhi Gonuguntla

Beverly Hills, California – Reported by Elite Traveler, the private jet lifestyle magazine

In honor of truffle season, Avalon Hotel’s Oliverio restaurant spruces up some of its more unassuming dishes with the delicious ingredient. The Italian eatery, influenced by Executive Chef Mirko Paderno’s love for his native country’s food, is set right on the Viceroy property’s dramatic pool terrace.

As part of a special truffle-laced menu, the Hamburger al Tartufo offers the most discerning diners a luxurious twist on one of the world’s most recreated dishes. Made with a 12-ounce Kobe beef burger, truffle cheese and a two-ounce garnish of fresh white truffle, this decadent makeover of your regular old cheeseburger is priced at $500.

Chef Paderno’s creations at Oliverio use these rare mushrooms to enhance already rich flavors in this unique menu. Due to the limited availability and high demand, the Hamburger al Tartufo must be pre-ordered 48 hours in advance and reservations must be prepaid.
