Da Nang, Vietnam—Reported by Elite Traveler, the private jet lifestyle magazine

The InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort will debut its French restaurant, La Maison 1888, on December 12, 2012. The restaurant will feature cuisine by the first three-star Michelin Chef in Vietnam, Michel Roux, adding even more notoriety and star power to the Bill Bensley-designed resort.

Having maintained his three-star Michelin status for 28 consecutive years, Michel Roux’s passion for French Cuisine makes for a truly upscale culinary experience at La Maison 1888. Housed within a French colonial building on the grounds of the resort, the restaurant is modeled after an antique French mansion. Intimate dining areas reflect themed period rooms, altogether recalling the French colonization of Vietnam that began in1888.

“InterContinental Danang is designed in the spirit of a lovely hillside Vietnamese village,” said Bill Bensley, designer of InterContinental Danang. “The most delightfully unexpected element at the property is this 19th century French colonial building, which houses a Michelin-star restaurant and is filled to the brim with period antiques and captivatingly quirky rooms.”

The restaurant will serve a range of classic haute French dishes, including pan-fried lobster medallions drizzled with white port sauce and ginger flavored vegetable julienne and grilled tender rabbit fillets served on a celeriac fondant with glazed chestnuts and Armagnac sauce. This delectable cuisine, combined with personalized table-side Maître D service, provides the recipe for unforgettable dining on the banks of Vietnam’s breathtaking East Sea.

Not only open for dinner, La Maison 1888 will also be home to the Buffalo Bar and a terrace lounge where guests can mix and mingle while enjoying fine wines, spirits and commanding ocean views.

Guests can also release their inner chef with private cooking classes including trips to the local market and in-depth lessons on how to recreate their favorite culinary dishes with one of the resort’s resident chefs, all of whom are trained by Chef Michel Roux.

La Maison 1888 and Buffalo Bar add to an already impressive roster of dining options at InterContinental Danang.
