Byblos Owner Opens New Hotspot

By Pardhasaradhi Gonuguntla

The Principality of Monaco inaugurated a new nightspot, The Black Legend Monaco, last night, located at pier Albert 1er route de la piscine.

On this special occasion, Antoine Chevanne, CEO of Groupe Floirat welcomed His Serene Highness, the Sovereign Prince Albert II, and more than 1800 privileged guests with the special participation of groups from the legendary Motown label including “The Supremes” and “Martha Reeves and the Vandellas”.

Born from an original idea by Antoine Chevanne, CEO of Groupe Floirat, The Black Legend Monaco offers an exceptional and innovative concept, simultaneously a restaurant, bar, lounge, live music venue and nightclub, all in one. It offers a musical atmosphere with live Motown entertainment early in the evening. Later, it will transform into a nightclub that will remain open into the early morning hours. Similar to Les Caves du Roy in Saint-Tropez, the other flagship of Groupe Floirat, The Black Legend Monaco is a part of the “private club” dimension of the group.

Junior, the charismatic director of Les Caves du Roy, and Chef Vincent Maillard, the culinary director of the Hotel Byblos Saint-Tropez, will work together to lead the direction of the new club and guide Chef Julien Tusello to oversee the food and beverage operations. The Black Legend Monaco combines all of the values of the Hotel Byblos and Les Caves du Roy, as well as the essence of the best international clubs with rhythms of R’ n’ B, Funk, Disco and Soul.

Many celebrities attended the inauguration in the presence of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II, including actresses Emma de Caunes, Gambia Gladys (actress in “A Journal of Lady M” by Alain Tanner), Vahina Giocante, Zoe Felix Gabriella Wright (actress in “The Immortal” by Richard Berry in 2009), Lola Zaidline and Amelie Daure, actor Olivier Martinez, Nelson Piquet Jr, Jean-Paul Goude with his wife and his son Paulo, the American jazz musician John Altman (music composer for the movie “Just a Gigolo” and music advisor of the movie “Titanic”), singer William Balde, amongst others.
