The 8 Best Bars in Las Vegas

By Neharika Padala

CommonwealthSelf-proclaimed ‘Entertainment Capital of the World’, there is no shortage of impressive watering holes in Sin City.

From luxurious hotel bars to hipster hangouts, the city of lights has something to suit every part of a fun-filled day of sightseeing, shows and shopping.

Here, Elite takes a look at some of the best bars in Vegas for those feeling parched under the glimmering lights of the Mojave Desert.

Ghostbar

GHOSTBAR

Glamorous, modern and brimming with sexy sophistication, Ghostbar at the Palms Casino is the place in Vegas to mix with the great and the good.

Situated on the 55th floor of the slickly redesigned Ivory Tower, 14-foot windows offer incredible views of the city below. While out on the skydeck, a see-through patio allows you to look down all the way to the base of the hotel.

CHANDELIER BAR

Representing Vegas ostentation at its best, this fun-loving venue is housed in a towering chandelier made up of over two million beads.

One of several popular watering holes at The Cosmopolitan, Chandelier is set over three storeys: a high-energy dancefloor, cocktail space and tranquil lounge setting. Based at the heart of the new Vegas bar scene, Chandelier can be a place to enjoy a wild night out or to simply sit and sip a perfectly crafted cocktail.

Mandarin BarMANDARIN BAR

Based on the 23rd floor, the Mandarin Oriental’s bar offers a sophisticated reprieve from the excesses of Sin City.

Floor-to-ceiling windows offer panoramic views of the strip, while expert mixologists will whip you up a cocktail from fresh ingredients in a flash. Wednesday to Saturday, live jazz adds to the refined atmosphere.

Downtown Cocktail Room

DOWNTOWN COCKTAIL ROOM

Tucked away in revitalized Fremont East, Downtown Cocktail Room is where chic Vegas professionals and creatives go to unwind and sample some of the best libations in town.

Serving up handcrafted cocktails, it’s a relaxed and laid-back spot with a lively front room and cosy booths for those seeking a romantic evening out. Just be careful when figuring out how to open the hidden door – it’s not known as a ‘modern-style speakeasy’ for nothing.

PETROSSIAN BAR AT BELLAGIO LAS VEGAS

Looking for a bar simply to people watch and enjoy the finer things in life? Petrossian Caviar Bar at the Bellagio Las Vegas has got you covered.

Situated at the centre of the casino action, visitors can enjoy artesian cocktails alongside fine wines and champagne – not to mention an impressive afternoon tea spread. With live piano throughout the day, it’s the ideal place to unwind after a hectic day shopping or working the craps table.

Parasol Down

PARASOL UP/DOWN

With the sort of fantastical theme that Vegas is famed for, Parasol Down and its sister lounge, Parasol Up, feature twirling, colorful parasols reminiscent of Imperialist China.

Travel up the escalator to Parasol Down and views of the famous waterfall and ‘Lake of Dreams’ at Wynn Las Vegas come into view. A seat outdoors at night when you can enjoy a spectacular lightshow that runs every half hour is your best bet.

VESPER

One of the more sophisticated hotel bars in Sin City, The Cosmopolitan’s Vesper is named after the James Bond concoction of the same name.

Featuring an inspired cocktail menu, the smooth bartenders here are experts in their field, serving up a range of age-old drinks. Visually, Vesper is a paragon of Las Vegas luxury, all mirrored tiling and spectacular lighting design.

COMMONWEALTHCommonwealth

Based in burgeoning downtown Vegas, Commonwealth is the city’s latest trendy hipster hangout.

With an interior that harks back to the pre-Prohibition era, this stylish cocktail bar serves up expertly crafted libations, offering something new to jaded Vegas visitors. Head upstairs to experience the views from the outdoor patio or try to find the hidden speakeasy for additional thrills and spills.
