Completed in 1908 and re-opened in early 2010 following a lengthy period of refurbishment, the theater plays host to all manner of concerts, plays and expositions. A must-see during your stay in Buenos Aires.

LIVE FOOTBALL BOCA JUNIORS

BOCA

Arguably South America’s most iconic football club, Boca Juniors is steeped in history.

Deeply rooted in the working class neighbourhood of La Boca, the club’s rivalry with more affluent fellow porteño outfit River Plate makes for one of the most famous derbies in world football. Based at La Bombonera (the Chocolate Box), with its steep stands and electric atmosphere courtesy of legendary fan group La Doce (the Twelfth Man), Boca is the club that gave Diego Maradona his first shot at the big time. A match day visit is unmissable for fans of the sport.

ESQUINA CARLOS GARDEL TANGO

This is a traditional venue and one perfect for introducing outsiders to one of the quintessential elements of Buenos Aires’ rich culture.

Tango is now recognized globally as an integral aspect of the River Plate region’s development into one of Latin America’s most culturally distinct areas, and the dance has been practised in the Argentine capital since the late 19th century. Originally an exclusively working class pursuit, tango has evolved to the status of a refined pastime, and Esquina Carlos Gardel is a great place for those seeking an initiation into the discipline to get a first taste of this historically and socially significant movement.
