$60 Million Penthouse At The Mark, New York

By Pardhasaradhi Gonuguntla

The Mark opened in 1927 and was designed by Schwartz & Gross, the preeminent architects of their time, specializing in luxury hotels and residential buildings. The Mark is located in the Upper East Side Historic District on 77th Street between Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue, and has become a landmark of New York City culture. This fifteen-story building will now be home to one hundred eighteen hotel rooms and forty-two extraordinary suites. Manhattan’s Upper East Side is home to the world’s finest boutique shopping, elite schools and gourmet restaurants. It is just a block from Frederick Law Olmstead and Calvert Vaux’s masterpiece, Central Park, where you can enjoy countless outdoor activities—running, biking, skating, or visiting the Central Park Zoo. The Mark is steps away from the Metropolitan Museum of Art and within walking distance of other cultural establishments: the Guggenheim Museum, the Whitney Museum, the Frick Collection, Sotheby’s Auction House, and many of New York’s finest art galleries.

Jacques Grange and The Mark Collection
With interiors and furnishings designed by world-renowned French designer Jacques Grange, you will be immersed in an environment of art and beauty. The lobby and bar will feature one-of-a-kind pieces created by artists and artisans Eric Schmitt, Vladimir Kagan, Paul Mathieu, Guy de Rougemont, François-Marie Banier, Mattia Bonetti, Anne Corbière, Vincent Corbière and Jean-Philippe Delhomme, among others. Galerie Mark, the Sales and Design Boutique showcasing these designers, is curated by Pierre Passebon. Jacques Grange has created an eclectic environment that combines a modern sensibility with traditional aesthetics, allowing these great contemporary designers to leave their mark on The Mark.

The Life at The Mark
Life at The Mark will be nothing short of luxurious, with 5-star hotel services available 24 hours a day. Needless to say, you may avail yourself of the 24-hour concierge, doorman, valet parking, a fully equipped fitness center and business center as well. Frédéric Fekkai’s new Salon Mark will be available to you, as well as in-suite massages, hairstyling and nail treatments.
