2014 marks the 10th Anniversary of One&Only Palmilla in Los Cabos, Mexico. To celebrate, the resort will re-launch its beloved Agua restaurant as ‘Agua by Larbi’ in recognition of Chef Larbi Dahrouch. Chef Dahrouch is an integral part of the resort and has worked there since it opened in 2004.
Agua has long been a favorite of guests at Palmilla for its lively atmosphere and nightly rotation of live entertainment, its stunning view of the sea of Cortez and the lights of San Jose del Cabo, and its fusion of Mexican, Mediterranean and Indian cuisine.
Not only is Larbi well-known around Palmilla; he is also friends with some of the world’s top chefs. Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Thomas Keller, and Enrique Olvera all came together at Palmilla to celebrate the Larbi re-launch for ‘Friends of Larbi’ Culinary Week.
This elite lineup of celebrity chefs took over Agua’s kitchen for three nights of fabulous dinners during the three day re-launch celebration. Guests were able to book the four-night Agua by Larbi package which included entrance to each dinner.
One dinner was prepared by Enrique Olvera, known for his modern take on traditional Mexican cuisine, while the others were created by Thomas Keller, chef and proprietor of the famed French Laundry Larbi at Agua and by Jean-Georges Vongerichten at Market, his first restaurant in Mexico that specializes in Euro-Asian cuisine with Mexican inspirations. The package also included a welcome cocktail reception.
All chef dinners featured wine pairings from the Baja Guadalupe Valley, Mexico’s prime wine-making region. It is rumored that this may not be the last time this group of culinary all-stars has the opportunity to unite at a One & Only.
