8am

Begin the day with a breakfast buffet in the Villa Magna Restaurant.

10am

Why not take a private tour of the city starting at the Palacio Real. The suites and grounds will take the best part of an hour and a half to see. Move on to the Cava Baja, a lively and beautiful street, for tapas and appetizers. There are a number of authentic locations for traditional Spanish fare; El Almandro, one of the oldest taverns in Madrid, serves excellent tapas. In the Cava area, Casa Lucio has entertained a number of celebrities, politicians, top bullfighters and even the occasional royal, and is famed for its Huevos Estrellados (broken eggs) and roasted meats. Alternatively, try the traditional El Landó.

2pm

After lunch head to the Prado Museum for a guided tour which takes up to two and a half hours.

5pm

Return to the Hotel Villa Magna for an exquisite treatment in our Club Wellness by Kiara Kare®. Ask manager Anne Jorgensen about the spa’s luxury skin treatment, which uses 24K gold, hyaluronic acid, chitosan and vitamin E.

6pm

Enjoy an aperitif in the Magnum bar, a known meeting place for Madrid’s high society.

8pm

To add the finishing touch to a perfect day, go to a flamenco tablao at the Corral de la Morería or the Café de Chinitas. Complete the day with a late dinner at one of Madrid’s best restaurants; old school Zalacaín, the eclectic Sant Celoni or seafood restaurant O´Pazo.

In summer, an al fresco buffet breakfast on the terrace of the Goya Restaurant is the perfect way to start the day.

The Ritz Madrid resides in a superb location overlooking the eminent Prado Museum, and is within a stone’s throw of the equally renowned Thyssen Bornemisza and Reina Sofía museums. We recommend a private tour of any one of these museums. Take a stroll in Retiro Park, the ‘lungs of Madrid,’ a five minute walk from the Prado. The park’s most spectacular feature is the Palacio de Cristal (Crystal Palace) which houses art exhibitions. To sample exceptional tapas try Madrid’s historical quarter. Visit Almudena Cathedral which took over a century to complete, and admire its numerous statues and chapels, before replenishing at the Plaza de Oriente overlooking the Palacio Real. Calle Serrano is the best street for a luxury shopping experience and a private showroom may be used on request. Return to the Ritz Hotel and end the perfect day where it began, in the Goya Restaurant with a candle lit dinner.
